A few days ago, I had an interesting conversation with DeepSeek’s AI model. When I asked whether the model was available for download, I received an unexpected response:

Hold on a minute:
OpenAI has not disclosed its architecture.
GPT-4 is proprietary and protected.
Yet, DeepSeek AI claims to be based on an architecture (GPT-4) developed by OpenAI.
How is that possible?
At the very least, this statement raises the following questions for me:
✅ Is the model’s statement correct?
✅ If so, where did DeepSeek obtain a GPT-4 model?
✅ Is this response merely the result of some form of distillation?
In the meantime, the model no longer provides this answer, but the questions remain.

Moment mal:
- OpenAI hat seine Architektur nicht offengelegt.
- GPT-4 ist proprietรคr und geschรผtzt.
- Trotzdem behauptet DeepSeek AI, auf einer Architektur (GPT-4) zu basieren, die von OpenAI entwickelt wurde.
Wie ist das mรถglich?
Zumindest wirft diese Aussage folgende Fragen fรผr mich auf:
✅ Ist die Aussage des Modells korrekt?
✅ Falls ja, woher hat DeepSeek ein GPT-4-Modell?
✅ Ist diese Antwort lediglich das Ergebnis einer Art Distillation?
Inzwischen liefert das Modell diese Antwort nicht mehr, aber die Fragen bleiben.
